This is "Ben" Woods after his nose job in September, 1999.
Ben is a four year old white domestic shorthair. His owner, Suzy Woods, noticed that he
always had a scab on his right nostril. Dr. Andy Burnett examined Ben and was concerned
that the scabs were an early sign of skin cancer, squamous cell carcinoma. This is a
very common problem on the nose and ears of white cats (They are very light sensitive due
to their lack of skin pigment). It was decided that early removal would be the best chance
to cure this potentially very invasive skin cancer. Dr. Sandoval performed the surgery to
remove 40% of Ben's nostril. As you can see, Ben is still a good looking guy.
