Muhammed is a year 12 year old Siamese cat who came to the hospital with a history of anorexia, vomiting and diarrhea. He had blood work and x-rays done. The x rays showed a bone like foreign body in his colon. (CLICK on the pictures below and find the foreign body!) He was taken to surgery to remove the foreign body. At surgery it was found that it was not a bone in his colon, but rather a calcification of
tendon that probably happened because he was hit by a car 9 years earlier. To aid in diagnosis, pieces of his liver, pancreas, small intestine, and stomach were taken and submitted for analysis. The biopsy report found severe lymphoplasmycytic inflammatory bowel disease. With proper medication and diet, he should do fine.
